APBD Research Foundation Receives Crucial Support from Costello Medical to Develop and Share Findings from the Clinical Trial Readiness Survey
October 14, 2026
The APBD Research Foundation is excited to announce a new collaboration with Costello Medical, Inc., following the Foundation’s successful application to Costello Medical’s pro bono project initiative for Rare Disease organizations.
With Costello Medical’s support, we will analyze the data provided by 74 patients, caregivers, and family members who participated in from the APBDRF Clinical Trial Readiness Survey that we launched over the summer and develop a research paper of the results to be published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
Costello Medical is a globally recognized leader in medical communications, health economics, and outcomes research. With extensive experience in creating strategic messaging and delivering high-quality, evidence-based solutions, Costello Medical’s team is committed to advancing patient-centered health outcomes. Their expertise will play a crucial role in sharing the information collected from the Clinical Trial Readiness Survey with the APBDRF community of patients, caregivers, researchers, clinicians, and industry partners, as well as the larger rare disease community.
“It is wonderful that we have been able to capture the voices of nearly 75% of our community in our Clinical Trial Readiness Survey study. I am incredibly thankful to the our community members who took the time to share their experiences with APBD and early-onset GSD IV and their thoughts on what participating in a clinical trial may look like for them. Now, with the support from Costello Medical, we can turn this incredible response into meaningful and actionable information that can be shared with researchers, clinicians, and industry partners that are exploring therapeutic development and clinical trials for GSD IV,” shared Lindsay Gill, PhD, the Foundation’s Research Director.
Lindsay added, “It can often take a long time for a patient’s or family’s research participation to translate into a meaningful outcome for the community. It is important to the APBDRF for patients and families to see the value of their contributions to research as soon as possible. Our partnership with Costello Medical is one way in which we are working to quickly turn the community’s participation in the Clinical Trial Readiness Survey into something visible and impactful for the design and development of clinical trials for GSD IV.”
