When a 13-Year-Old Takes on The Fight for a Cure!
In anticipation of his bar mitzvah last November, Elliott Weiss hosted a biking event called, Double Chai 4 a Cure, to raise awareness of — and fundraise for — the APBD Research Foundation’s work on behalf of people suffering with APBD. Working together with his family, friends, and classmates, Elliott raised over $22,000 to support the cause that is near to his heart.
Raising Rare Disease Awareness and Funds for APBD Research When The Rules Change
For the fifth consecutive year, the APBD Research Foundation was invited to participate in Penn Medicine’s 2020 Million Dollar Bike Ride. Held as a “virtual” event, the Foundation was pleasantly surprised to see its participation triple to 80 APBD Tour de Friends riders and to raise $121,268, including the dollar for dollar match up to $30,000 from UPenn, for APBD research.
