The APBD Community said, “Let’s Roll!” to the Million Dollar Bike Ride for rare disease research.
Some of the 36 members of our “Tour de Friends” team rode bikes on the official course in Philadelphia, and some rode virtually in their hometowns. In all cases, the event was spectacular!
Under the rules of the Bike Ride, the University of Pennsylvania’s Orphan Disease Center matched the first $50,000 raised by the “Tour de Friends” and is now holding over $107,000 for release on January 1, 2019 to top APBD research scientists.
Our community is tiny, but our thanks are huge. The riding team, the University of Pennsylvania, and wonderful donors made this moment possible. Together, we will find therapies and a cure to defeat APBD.
