Seeking Volunteers from the APBD Community: Help Advance APBD and GSD IV Research Through the UCLA Biomarker Study
Gal Bitan, PhD and Brent Fogel, MD, PhD at the University of California, Los Angeles Clinical Neurogenomics Research Center are working on a research study aimed at looking for blood biomarkers that indicate changes in the brain. For this study, they are looking to recruit the following from our community:
Patients with APBD
Patients with early-onset GSD IV
Healthy individuals with no neurological disease
Patients diagnosed with APBD or GSD IV should have confirmatory genetic testing indicating their mutations in the GBE1 gene.
Participation involves collection of a blood sample and completion of questionnaires and clinical assessments. The total time you spend will be under 30 minutes.
