The APBD Research Foundation is delighted to announce that Art Glassman and Beth Katz have joined the Board of Directors.

Art Glassman is a retired estate planning and tax attorney in Minnesota. His late wife, Penny, was diagnosed with APBD in 2009 after years of misdiagnoses. Art’s love for Penny guided his decisions with and for her during the years when APBD symptoms were so unforgiving. Remaining with his life partner was paramount, so he lived with Penny in an assisted living facility and then in a care suite until she died in 2015.

Beth Katz is a retired dental hygienist and a caregiver for her husband, Jeff, who was diagnosed with APBD in October 2015. She works at Congregation Beth Israel in Michigan and serves on the Board of CBI Sisterhood.

“As we work to implement the Foundation’s new strategic plan, Art and Beth will provide valuable input and guidance as new members of the Board,” said Emil Weiss, co-founder, and co-president.

“I, and the other members of our Board and staff, welcome and look forward to collaborating with Art and Beth,” Weiss added.

Beth explained that her motivation for joining the Board comes from being engaged with the patient community on behalf of her husband.

Art and Beth are dedicated community members who bring their personal, professional, and volunteer experiences to advance the Foundation’s mission.

They share the Foundation’s vision of “a life free from APBD.” Please join us in welcoming Art and Beth to the Board of Directors!
