The APBD Research Foundation is excited to announce a new collaboration with Costello Medical, Inc., following the Foundation’s successful application to Costello Medical’s pro bono project initiative for Rare Disease organizations.
With Costello Medical’s support, we will develop a comprehensive Strategic Communication Platform and build bridges between the APBD and Glycogen Storage Disease type IV (GSD IV) communities.
Costello Medical is a globally recognized leader in medical communications, health economics, and outcomes research. With extensive experience in creating strategic messaging and delivering high-quality, evidence-based solutions, Costello Medical’s team is committed to advancing patient-centered health outcomes. Their expertise will play a crucial role in developing a Strategic Communication Platform to raise awareness, improve diagnosis, and enhance the management of APBD and GSD IV.
“Through our Building Strength and Power in Numbers Focus Group, we — in collaboration with Humanized Solutions — have brought various GSD patient advocacy organizations and GSD IV families together to understand the needs of GSD IV families and patients as well as identify areas of alignment between the GSD IV and APBD communities,” shared Natacha Pires, MS, MBBS, the Foundation’s Executive Director.
Natacha added, “Now, we continue to further engage the APBD and GSD IV communities with the incredible support and expertise of the Costello Medical pro bono initiative project. The development of a Strategic Communication Platform is a critical step in extending our reach and impact. We are incredibly grateful for Costello Medical’s support.”
According to Jeff Levenson, the Foundation’s co-president, “This partnership with Costello Medical is crucial for advancing our mission. Their team will help us develop a Strategic Plan to build and strengthen communications between the APBD and GSD IV communities. We are hopeful that this initiative will provide much needed support for greater collaborations to enhance research efforts, and to increase visibility and awareness about the spectrum of Polyglucosan Body storage diseases.”
Marielle Brown, Consultant in Health Policy at Costello Medical, acknowledged, “At Costello Medical we are committed to using our expertise to make a meaningful impact on healthcare, and we are honored to partner with the APBD Research Foundation on this initiative.”
She continued, “By bringing together the collective knowledge and experience across the APBD and GSD IV communities, we aim to develop a Strategic Communication Platform that serves as an impactful, evidence-based tool to unify communities, advance research and increase the visibility and awareness of these diseases. We are looking forward to beginning this important work and sharing the outcomes with the wider community.”
